SLS successor set to break cover
MERCEDES-BENZ’S POWERMAD AMG division is set to launch a brand new sports car at 6.30pm BST this evening (September 9), and you can watch the big unveil live here.
The Mercedes-AMG GT may not have gull-wing doors but it is the spiritual successor of the SLS sports car, with a long bonnet housing a hand-built 4-litre V8 BiTurbo engine producing more than 500bhp.
The two-seat coupé is aimed at drivers of machines like the Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi R8 V10 and Jaguar’s F-Type R and is expected to cost over £100,000 when it goes on sale at the end of the year.
