News: Winners of Driving's search for real life driving stereotypes announced
Model drivers see off the competition to win Audi scale racers
CONGRATULATIONS TO all the readers who entered our competition to find the real-life driver who best fitted one of the stereotypes described by Richard Porter in Driving earlier this month.
To judge from our postbag, the “Classicist” is alive and well on British roads — or rather in our lay-bys, peering into the smoking engine bay of an ailing vintage car. But our worthy winner is Gary “Steely-Eyed Helmsman” Scott of St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, whose photograph of himself and his BMW could be our cartoon made flesh.
“Full Nomex suit,” he told us as he described his track-day get-up, “racing shoes and helmet. And most importantly, a fact missed out in your article, colour co-ordinated with my beautiful M5.”
