Metropolitan police to speak with Jeremy Vine over road rage incident
Crimewatch presenter told to “get the f*** out of the road”
POLICE are investigating a road rage incident in which a driver of a Vauxhall Corsa threatened to attack Jeremy Vine, the new presenter of the Crimewatch television programme.
The video, shot from Vine’s bike camera, shows the presenter cycling along the centre of a single lane street in west London. A rearward view shows a black Vauxhall Corsa following his bike. The female driver sounds her horn before Vine stops “to explain” why he was cycling in the centre of the lane.
The unnamed woman tries to throw the presenter’s bike off the road before telling him that she would “knock him out” if he filmed her car, to “get the f*** out of the road” and “I could be done for murder”.
Vine replied: “Don’t hit me, because that would be an assault.” He said that the woman then made a gun gesture at him, pretending to fire at him as he cycled off.

Vine said the incident took place while he was commuting through Kensington, west London.
He posted on Facebook: “I hate to overload our hard-working London police with footage from my commute, but I feel the person you see on the tape will at some point hurt someone very badly — either with her car or in a direct personal assault.”
The Metropolitan police told Driving:
“The Digital Contact Centre or “Digital 101″ team have received a message concerning an incident between a cyclist and a car on Friday, 26 August. Footage of the incident has also been sent to police and is being assessed. There are no reported injuries and no arrests have been made. An appointment has been arranged to speak with the cyclist involved.”
Vine is a long time campaigner on behalf of cyclists. In January 2014 he entered into a verbal war of words with Driving columnist Jeremy Clarkson after the motoring journalist tweeted about his encounter with a road-hogging cyclist.
