Classic car hire now offered through AirBnB
Have a classic car waiting for you at your holiday home you've hired.
THE ONLINE lodging broker AirBnB has broadened its horizons into an unlikely new market: the classic car hire business.
Brought about by a partnership with the London-based firm BookAclassic, AirBnB will be able to offer classic car hire services to its users — providing they’re booking a place in one of the 36 countries BookAclassic operates in.
However, anyone looking forward to renting a classic for their weekend trip away should note that the BookAclassic service is currently only available to clients of Luxury Retreats (a more upmarket subsidiary to AirBnB).

Much like the business model behind AirBnB and Luxury Retreats, BookAclassic doesn’t own any of the vehicles listed on its site. Instead, the cars are all owned by private individuals, with the site earning a small slice of the money taken from the car hire.
Those who do decide to combine their high-end holiday home rental with a classic car add-on will be in for quite a treat, though. As part of the service, Luxury Retreats customers will be able to have the car they wish to hire waiting for them at the property.
With over 20,000 vehicles listed on BookAclassic, users should also have plenty to choose from when deciding what cars should accompany them during their stay.
As well as cars with four or three wheels, BookAclassic also lists classic motorbikes, vans, buses, tractors, taxi cabs and even gargantuan trucks from Peterbilt and Kenworth. CEO Claus Stig Christensen claims his company “can provide anything from a Ferrari in Italy to a Mustang in the USA — and we’re just getting started!”
Pricing details weren’t disclosed in the announcement, though it’s expected BookAclassic’s hourly and minimum hire rates will be factored into the final price on Luxury Retreats.
