Q. I’ve just attended a speed-awareness course and now want to set up my TomTom sat nav to warn me when I am exceeding the speed limit. Can I do this and how?

A. The simplest and cheapest option is to go to the settings menu on your device then select the status bar and tick “maximum speed”. Then, when you’re driving, the limit for the road you are on is shown alongside your actual speed, and if you exceed it, the limit turns red. However, there is no audible warning and the system does not operate on many smaller roads.
