Baby CR-V arrives at end of August
THE all-new Honda HR-V compact crossover will cost from £17,995 on-the-road when it arrives in UK showrooms late next month, the company has announced.

Baby sister to the CR-V, the HR-V takes on rivals such as the Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Mokka and Ford EcoSport and is aimed at drivers who want a high riding, rugged SUV that is also easy to manoeuvre and park in tight spots.
Trim levels start with the “S” grade, which comes with climate control, cruise control and dusk-sensing automatic headlamps fitted as standard. Move up to the SE model, priced from £19,745, and you also get rain sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensor, a six-speaker stereo and an upgraded dual-zone climate control with touch screen controls.
At the top of the range is the EX model, which starts at £23,195 and comes with a leather interior, keyless entry and start, a rear-view camera, a tilt-and-slide opening panoramic glass sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels.
An Android-based “Honda Connect” seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with SE and EX models. Its pre-installed apps and downloadable apps allow web browsing, real-time traffic information, news and weather, social media, and internet music stations. Garmin navigation is standard on EX and is available as an option on SE models.
Honda says all European HR-Vs will be equipped with Honda’s City-Brake Active System as standard, with a view to getting a maximum five star Euro NCAP safety rating. In addition, SE and EX models will get the Advanced Driver Assist System, which uses radar sensors as well as forward- and rear-facing cameras for Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning and High-beam Support System.
Drivers will have the choice of two engines: a 128bhp 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol and a 118bhp 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel. These will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox or, for petrol models only, a newly developed continuously variable (automatic) transmission CVT.
Honda says CO2 emissions can be as low as 104g/km of CO2, which would put that model in band B for VED, meaning no road tax to pay in the first year and £20 per year thereafter.
