2024 Skoda Superb and Kodiaq teased in silhouette images
Mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of both
All-new versions of the Skoda Kodiaq seven-seat SUV and Superb executive hatchback saloon and estate, due to arrive in the UK next year, have been teased in silhouette images released by the Czech car maker.
The seven-seat Kodiaq launched in 2016 and has sold nearly three quarters of a million units over the last seven years. While currently offered with petrol and diesel engines, the all-new second-generation model will add plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrains to the line-up.
“The second-generation Kodiaq will take safety, technology and versatility to the next level,” said Skoda’s CEO Klaus Zellmer.
“We continue to offer the best of both worlds and meet our customers’ needs, so both models will also be offered with plug-in and mild hybrid options.”
The Superb is already available with plug-in hybrid power but the new, fourth-generation version will also get a mild-hybrid petrol version, alongside traditional petrol and diesel models.
Skoda is offering a greater choice of powertrains for customers as it also introduces a new wave of pure-electric models, four of which are set to arrive by 2026.
“The Superb is the flagship of our ICE portfolio and will continue to set standards in terms of comfort and space in its fourth generation,” said Zellmer.
The flagship hatchback will continue to be available in hatchback and estate bodystyles, and will be manufactured at the Volkswagen Group plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Both models, described by Zellmer as “important cornerstones of the Škoda model range”, will get new exterior design as well as new features, improved technology and a completely redesigned interior.
The all-new Superb and Kodiaq are scheduled to go on sale this autumn with first deliveries in Spring 2024.
